The Center of Being

I know that I have to move from speaking about Jesus to letting him speak within me, from thinking about Jesus to letting him think within me, from acting for and with Jesus to letting him act through me.

Call Me Back to You

I trust in you, Lord, but keep helping me in my many moments of distrust and doubt.

Mercy is Greater

God looks at our world not only with sad or angry eyes; God’s mercy is far greater than God’s sadness and anger.

The Upside-down Kingdom

The Kingdom is where everything is turned upside down. Those who are marginal, those considered not respectable, are suddenly proclaimed as the people who are called to the Kingdom.

Created and Redeemed in Love

I am deeply convinced that the Christian leader of the future is called to be completely irrelevant and to stand in this world with nothing to offer but his or her own vulnerable self.

The Divine Embrace

I realize that all I learned, I knew already. But all I learned was also new. My only hope was to make Jesus more fully the center of my life, the heart of my heart, the lover of my soul, the bridegroom of my spirit.

The perfect love about which St. John speaks, embraces and transcends all feelings, emotions, and passions.

Make Your Home in Me

When Jesus says: “Make your home in me as I make mine in you,” he offers us an intimate place that we can truly call “home.”

Hidden in God

I know that every time I choose for my innocence, I don’t have to worry about the next ten years.

Just Dwell

Be with him and listen. Listen to the One who invites you. Be quiet. 

Divesting Power

The radical, divine choice is the choice to reveal glory, beauty, truth, peace, joy, and, most of all, love in and through the complete divestment of power.

A Heart of Flesh

God sent us you, Jesus, with a human heart big enough to hold all human loneliness and all human anguish.

Making Our True Home

Jesus travels with us and continues to reassure us every time we are driven to panic or tempted to destroy others or ourselves.
