An Enfleshed Life
Real spiritual life is an enfleshed life. In the Incarnation, Christ did not cling to his divinity but emptied himself and became human (Phil. 2). No longer is divine life found outside the body since God decided to become one of us. That’s why St. Paul can say: “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body” (1 Cor. 6:19-20).
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
- 1 Corinthians 6: 19, 20
Reflection Question: How do you or how will you engage your physical body in your spiritual journey?
