Dr. David A. Brown recently completed A “Henri Nouwen Workbook" as his project for the Doctor of Ministry Degree at Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. The workbook is an effort to make some of Nouwen's most important concepts available to people new to the gift that was Henri Nouwen. The workbook includes a biography of Nouwen and 4 chapters that include: 1. Finding Healing in Wounds (The Wounded Healer)2.Discovering a Beloved Identity (Life of the Beloved)3.Spiritual Formation as Homecoming, (The Return Of the Prodigal Son) and 4.Acccepting Loss in a Lifestyle of Giving(Our Greatest Gift). Discussion questions follow each chapter. Brown is now seeking publication of his work. The workbook has been accepted by the Henri J.M. Nouwen Archives and Research Collection at St. Michael's College, University of Toronto and is in their collection.

Dr. Brown led a discussion group at Converse College, a women's college in Spartanburg, South Carolina on October 5th, on the topic of grief and loss recovery using Nouwen's Our Greatest Gift and his fourth chapter as a resource. Brown has been asked to speak at an ecumenical study group on the subject of Henri Nouwen on Nov.10th in Spartanburg, SC. Brown is a United Methodist Minister living in South Carolina.
