Henri Nouwen and Soul Care
Dr. Wil Hernandez's latest book, Henri Nouwen and Soul Care, was published by Paulist Press in 2008. While Wil's first book, Henri Nouwen: A Spirituality of Imperfection, focused on Henri Nouwen's integration of spirituality with psychology, ministry and theology, this companion volume narrows its focus towards the practical applications of Nouwen's understanding of the spiritual journey as it relates to ministry -- specifically, soul care and spiritual formation ministry.
Henri Nouwen and Soul Care contains a Foreword by Sr. Sue Mosteller, a close friend of Henri Nouwen’s and his Literary Executrix. She writes, “It isn’t often that we find a scholarly work that is likewise pastoral. And it isn’t every day that such concentrated considerations around soul care call us to a deeper inner journey and to a more conscious walk together as members of the human family."
Wil Hernandez, PhD, teaches at the Fuller Theological Seminary, Haggard Graduate School of Theology at Azusa Pacific University, and the Center for Religion and Spirituality at Loyola Marymount University.
